Fundamental Analysis for Prop Firm Traders and Funded Traders
Fundamental analysis for prop firm traders comes down to two checks before a trade: which side the economy behind each currency is on, and which release could move the pair while you hold it. Forex Fundamentals gives you both for the ten major currencies, beside the trades you record. Whether you trade a challenge or a funded account, the rules and the decisions stay yours.
What you check before you risk the account
A prop account has a daily loss limit and a maximum drawdown. Before you add to the risk against them, you can see:
- the desk’s Call on the pair, Buy, Sell or Range, and the reasons behind it;
- each currency’s Bias, from Strong Bullish to Strong Bearish, with its Confidence;
- the week’s releases on the economic calendar, with their Impact and their time in your own time zone;
- what would refute the Call, and when the desk will know.
Your open trades, as one position
Record a trade as a Position: the pair, long or short, the stop and what you risk to it as a share of the account. It keeps the Call that was in force when you opened it.
The Positions page adds up your worst case if every stop is hit, and your net exposure per currency. Alerts tell you when our Call on a pair you hold turns against you, when price nears your stop, or when your risk on one currency goes above a limit you set.
How the desk works
Every Bias, Score and Call comes from the same routine.
It reads the sources: central banks, statistics offices and the CFTC’s positioning report.
It scores each of the ten currencies Factor by Factor; the Score adds them up.
It gives each currency a Bias with a Confidence, and each pair it trades a Call: Buy, Sell or Range.
It writes down why, and what would change the call.
It reads a call again when the data behind it changes: a release, a central-bank decision, a shift in positioning.
It is research, not a signal service: entry, size and exit stay yours.
Questions
Is this for challenges or funded accounts?
Both. The page for funded traders is this one now: the checks are the same whether the account is in its evaluation or already funded.
Does it know my prop firm’s rules?
No. Daily loss limits, news rules and consistency rules differ per firm. You set your own limit on the risk per currency; the firm’s rules stay yours to follow.
Is the Call a trade signal?
No. It says which side the fundamentals favour and how firmly the desk holds that view. When to enter, how much to risk and where to exit stay your decisions.
Forex Fundamentals is research, not investment advice: entry, size and exit stay yours. Trading foreign exchange carries risk.
