Fundamental Analysis for Technical Traders

Fundamental analysis for technical traders is the half the chart does not show: which side the economy behind each currency is on. Your chart gives you the timing and the levels; Forex Fundamentals gives you the desk’s Call on each pair it trades and a Bias for each of the ten major currencies. You can then see whether a setup goes with the fundamentals or against them.

An example of fundamental analysis for technical traders: setups beside the desk’s Call. Invented values, not today’s call; today’s board is in the membership.

Timing from the chart, direction from the economy

A clean pattern can run into a rate decision or an inflation print the chart has not seen yet. Before you take a setup, you can check:

  • the Call on the pair, Buy, Sell or Range, and whether your setup goes with it;
  • both currencies’ Biases, from Strong Bullish to Strong Bearish, with their Confidence;
  • the reasons behind each, heaviest first: rates, growth, the central bank, positioning;
  • what would refute the Call, and when the desk will know.

No black box

Every Bias and every Call opens onto its reasons, and a pair’s trade score opens into its parts, from macro to positioning, as points out of their maximum, where the desk published them.

The releases that move pairs are on the economic calendar, free, with their Impact and their time in your own time zone.

How the desk works

Every Bias, Score and Call comes from the same routine.

  • It reads the sources: central banks, statistics offices and the CFTC’s positioning report.

  • It scores each of the ten currencies Factor by Factor; the Score adds them up.

  • It gives each currency a Bias with a Confidence, and each pair it trades a Call: Buy, Sell or Range.

  • It writes down why, and what would change the call.

  • It reads a call again when the data behind it changes: a release, a central-bank decision, a shift in positioning.

It is research, not a signal service: entry, size and exit stay yours.

Questions

My technical analysis works. Why add fundamentals?

Your strategy stays the same. The Call adds one check: whether the fundamentals point the same way as the setup, or the other way.

I don’t have time for fundamental analysis.

The desk does the reading. You check the Call on the pair and, when you want them, the reasons behind it.

Is the Call a trade signal?

No. It says which side the fundamentals favour and how firmly the desk holds that view. When to enter, how much to risk and where to exit stay your decisions.

Forex Fundamentals is research, not investment advice: entry, size and exit stay yours. Trading foreign exchange carries risk.
